That's Not The Best Commercial. This Is. Sorry Volvo and Joe Boxer. Move over for GIRLS!!!

In the last week I’ve seen two commercials roving around the facebook world that are both touted as the “best commercial ever”!!!  They’ve been shared and commented on, received accolades and praise from every corner of the webisphere.
That’s crap.
First, there is the Volvo commercial with Jean Claude Van Damme.  Ok. Yes, he can do a fantastic split.  He’s a one trick pony. Doing it on two moving trucks to show the stability of Volvo’s whatever-it-is.  Yeah, impressive.  And, thankfully, for once he is wearing an undershirt and covering his chest although I imagine that some wise stylist somewhere had to fight him on that.  The use of Enya makes me very happy, and earns some extra credit.  But, best commercial ever?  Ehhh… predictable.

Next we have the boxer battalion of bell  boppers.  Kmart won’t let anyone embed this commercial so you’ll have to go HERE to see it.   Whatever….
So, I’m glad that we’re not showing women dressed in dental floss to sell their boxers.  I’m slightly torn on how well dressed they are. I doubt they put women in a full shirt and blazer with just underwear.   Wouldn’t be alluring enough. Wouldn’t sell.  If they are trying to portray “equality in advertising”, then these studs are wearing too much.  On the other hand, I really don’t want to see more. The gold boxers with the tongue strategically placed over the goods was enough for me, thanks.  It’s just the same old thing in a different package. Except with this, it looks like an ad that Robin Thicke contributed to. Ick.  It’s funny, sure. And creative. But best commercial ever?  Again…predictable.
I’ve gotta tell ya, I’m pretty sure that the Chickfila Cows would count as more genius marketing than this.
So, here I present to you what I, personally, think is the BEST commercial ever. The best that I’ve seen in a long time!
Girls!!!   When GoldieBlox first came out we told all of our Momstinct readers about it in the kickstart.com stage. I am so stinkin’ thrilled at their success!!!  Let’s show them that this commercial rocks, by adding this to our shopping list for our GIRLS!!!!   And, I’m sorry Volvo,  Beastie Boys trumps Enya…. but jyst by a little bit, mmmkay?

I’m not saying the first two aren’t impressive, but with their access to marketing staff and funds I believe them to be completely outdone by Goldieblox and I think we should get a set for all of our GIRLS!!!
